The San Diego Padres have acquired pitchers Mason Miller and JP Sears from the Athletics in exchange for shortstop Leodalis De Vries and three other players, bolstering their All-Star bullpen ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

In exchange for Miller, the A’s will receive four prospects, including No. 3 prospect Leo De Vries. The shortstop is ranked behind only Pittsburgh Pirates’ Konnor Griffin and Cincinnati Reds’ Chase Burns on MLB’s top 100. The Padres will also receive left-handed starter JP Sears.
