On Jan. 29, Buckingham Palace Buckingham Palace announced the arrival of Princess Beatrice, 36, and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi ’s second child, sharing a heartwarming first photo of the newborn. The couple chose the name Athena Elizabeth Rose — a touching tribute to Beatrice’s late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth .

The royal became a stepmom when she married Mozzi in July 2020. The pair welcomed their first child, daughter Sienna, in September of the next year.

Athena Elizabeth, who is believed to have been named after the late Queen Elizabeth II, is now 11th in the line of succession to the British throne.

The Duke of York, 64, was seen in high spirits as he rode his horse around the Windsor Estate on Saturday - three days after his eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, welcomed her second child, Athena Elizabeth Rose.
