Enrollment grew by about 10,000 students among Massachusetts’ community colleges this academic year, the first since the state established its free program for nearly all students, Gov. Maura Healey said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Almost half of the community college enrollment growth last year came from one program: students who take classes in their high school.

Since the state began its free tuition program, 67,000 students enrolled at community colleges across the state last fall. WBZ-TV's Chris Tanaka reports.
