Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis launched a redistricting effort to secure more Republican congressional seats in the state on Wednesday. DeSantis announced the move on social media, saying he will be convening a special session for the state legislature to adjust current maps.

The FBS transfer portal opened Friday, Jan. 2, and runs through Jan. 16, a window in which players can officially be in contact with other schools. Florida players who are in the portal can re-sign with UF during that time or choose to sign with other schools.
