Thousands of runners and walkers take to the streets of Houston this Sunday. Temperatures at the starting line will be in the mid-30s but it will feel like the upper-20s with the wind chill. Temperatures will warm to the lower-40s through the morning under sunny skies. It was actually colder last year.

Another surge of arctic air and freezing temperatures will arrive on Monday into Tuesday. The Houston area is projected to see temperatures as low as 26 degrees late Monday and 24 degrees on Tuesday,

Thursday will be partly sunny and dry with mild afternoon temperatures. Temperatures rise to near 70 on Friday ahead of our next cold front. 30% chance of showers Friday night.

Long-range models indicate the chance of another arctic blast early next week, which could bring the coldest air so far this season.

FOX 26 meteorologist Remeisha Shade takes a look at the blast of arctic air expected to come to Texas next week. The air is supposed to be the coldest that we have seen all season, with the chance for snow and ice increasing next week.
