President-elect Donald Trump announced Sunday night that Tom Homan, who served as the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in his last administration, will be in charge of the nation’s borders.

Trump said Homan, a former police officer in his North Country hometown of West Carthage, N.Y., will be responsible for the southern and northern borders, maritime and aviation security and will be in responsible for deportation efforts — a central part of Trump’s agenda.
