By Adnan Abidi, Fayaz Bukhari and Mubasher Bukhari NEW DELHI/LAHORE (Reuters) - Heavy rain in the Himalayas continued to lash northern India and neighbouring Pakistan on Thursday with flooding of homes and highways worsening as major rivers overflowed.

India has warned Pakistan about possible cross-border flooding for the second time in as many weeks as monsoon deluges cause death and widespread destruction in both countries

Heavy rains have pushed the threat of major flooding in Pakistan and northern India higher. More than half a million people have been forced to flee in the past 24 hours as the flood threat in Pakistan ‘s eastern Punjab province rises,

India and China were drawn to Russian oil, which became cheaper after Western countries cut trade ties with Moscow over its 2022 invasion of Ukraine. But Beijing, New Delhi and Moscow have taken their ties deeper. They now share a common antagonist in the US, which has imposed sanctions on Russia and put sweeping tariffs on its trading partners.
