The late 'Romeo & Juliet' star died almost a decade after her breast cancer returned.

Olivia Hussey Eisley, star of the 1968 film “Romeo and Juliet” and the slasher classic “Black Christmas,” has died, according to a post on her Instagram page. She was 73.

Olivia Hussey, best known for playing ‘Juliet’ in the 1968 film Romeo and Juliet passed away at the age of 73 due to cancer on December 27, 2024, in San Francisco, California.

She also played Mary in the 1977 miniseries 'Jesus of Nazareth' and was memorable in 'Black Christmas' and 'Death on the Nile.'

Olivia Hussey, who played Juliet in the 1968 film adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet," has died. She was 73. On Dec. 27, her family announced her death in a statement they shared to Hussey's official Instagram account. Hussey died "peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on December 27th," the statement read. A cause of death was not shared.
