PORTLAND, Ind. (WANE)— The National Weather Service has confirmed two tornadoes occurred in Jay County on Sunday evening. The more impactful twister was an EF-1, with a peak wind speed of 110 mph.
The NWN stated a “small, short track tornado” was produced in a corn field in Jay County. The winds peaked at 110 mph and ended up earning the tornado a rating of EF1.
