The criticism came after the government stated that the intel about the infiltration of 900 trained Kuki militants from Myanmar to carry out attacks on the Meiteis in Manipur on September 28 could not be substantiated on the ground.

The Manipur Security Adviser today said intelligence received from "different quarters" about infiltration by 900 Kuki militants from Myanmar could not be substantiated on the ground, and so "there is no basis currently to believe in any such input.

On September 17, an intelligence report from CMO was “leaked” and circulated widely claiming that “over 900 Kuki militants have entered Manipur from Myanmar.”
