Severe storms in southeast Louisiana prompt tornado warnings, flash flood alerts, traffic closures, and power outages, affecting thousands of residents.

West Feliciana Parish and north Pointe Coupee Parish are under a tornado warning until 6:15 p.m. Saturday after a severe thunderstorm, capable of producing a tornado, was located 11 miles northwest of St. Francisville, moving east at 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

A tornado watch has been issued for 5 million people in parts of east Texas, much of Louisiana, and southern Mississippi.
