At least three people drowned in Missouri, including two poll workers, as a result of flooding caused by heavy rains that hit southern and eastern parts of the state and forced numerous road closures Monday and Tuesday,

Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Four people died in Missouri, including two poll workers, from flooding around the state on Tuesday. Two Wright County poll workers died on Election Day after floodwaters swept their vehicle and two others off State Route H near Beaver Creek in Wright County, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.

Five people were killed in flash flooding in Missouri on Monday and Tuesday, including an elderly couple who served as poll workers. Around eight inches of rain fell in parts of southern Missouri across the two days, causing streams and rivers to overflow their banks and cover roadways in water.
