While there's still hope in the Hill Country that survivors are still out here, finding bodies at least offers some level of comfort to the families who have been waiting four agonizing days.

The Guadalupe River, winding through the scenic Texas Hill Country, has a hidden danger that struck with devastating force in July 2025. Heavy rains caused the river to surge, leading to one of the deadliest floods in recent history.

Survivors have described the floods along the Guadalupe River as a “pitch black wall of death” and said they received no emergency warnings.
