Novo Nordisk launches Wegovy pill in US
Novo Nordisk’s daily oral pill, which starts at 1.5 milligrams, will be available for $149 a month for self-paying patients, while a 4 milligram dose will be available for the same price until April 15 of this year, then will rise to $199 a month, according to the company’s website.
The FDA-approved weight loss drug offers an oral alternative to invasive injections with similar effectiveness.
Drugmaker Novo Nordisk said the prescription medicine can be found at a range of pharmacies, including CVS and Costco, as well as some telehealth providers.
