If you're one of those people, then don't feel ashamed or inadequate – FromSoftware has listened to your cries of anguish and has nerfed the final boss (the name of which we won't say here, as it might spoil the DLC for those yet to play it) in update 1.14.

With tons of new weapons to earn in the DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree is very friendly towards any kind of Elden Ring build you might have. That said, we highly recommend entering the DLC with at least 50-60 Vigor. Enemies hit significantly harder in the DLC areas, so you’re going to need a lot of health.

FromSoftware is known for many things, but mercy isn't one of them. Sometimes it really does feel like the developers have it out for you, when you're playing a Soulsborne game. So after the release of the Elden Ring DLC,

The Crimson-Sapping Cracked Tear is a crystal tear that can be found in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. It can be mixed into your Flask of Wondrous Physick and grants the player health restoration on attacks.

The Elden Ring patch notes for update 1.14 have revealed yet another nerf for Shadow of the Erdtree. This time, it’s not players getting stronger with the Scadutree Fragments, it’s the final boss getting weaker.
