Gov. Mike Kehoe signed a legislative package on Saturday, approved by Missouri lawmakers earlier in the week, that includes hundreds of millions of dollars of financial aid intended to persuade the Chiefs and Royals to remain in the state.

The governor’s signature capped off a two-week, at times chaotic, special session intended to prevent the city’s two major sports teams from leaving Missouri for Kansas.

The Missouri House voted to set aside $1.5 billion in future tax revenue to finance stadium projects and provide $125 million in disaster aid.
