Purdue attempted 13 more shots but Michigan outscored Purdue 18 to six at the foul line. Danny Wolf had 15 points and nine rebounds as Michigan got balanced scoring for its fifth straight win. Michigan’s last six victories have come by four points or fewer.

Michigan was down 55-50 with just more than seven minutes to play when it took its first lead of the second half. After a pair of L.J. Cason free throws and a Goldin bucket, Burnett drilled a 3-pointer from the right wing to tie the game at 57-57 before Goldin made two from the line to take the lead.
