Turkey deploys third NATO Patriot system to repel Iranian missiles
The latest deployment brings the number of NATO Patriot batteries stationed in Turkey to three.

NATO is looking into reinforcing further its ballistic missile defense capacity in Turkey against threats from neighboring Iran, according to people familiar with the matter.
Regional tensions linked to the Iran–Israel conflict have prompted several nearby countries to raise their defence alert levels. In response to these concerns, Turkey has also shifted additional military equipment and personnel to northern Cyprus as a precaution.
Turkey did not say where the missile was intercepted. But residents near Incirlik Air Base, which hosts U.S. troops, reported hearing sirens and a loud boom.
Adana’s Incirlik Air Base hosts troops from the United States, Qatar, Spain, Poland, and Turkey. The deployment follows last week’s positioning of a Patriot system in southeastern Malatya province, near a NATO radar base, as part of steps to strengthen air defences against missile threats linked to the Iran war.
