UK weather maps show the country is set for an Arctic blast in the run up to Christmas with icy temperatures and widespread snow flurries following on from Storm Bram
Affected Regions: A total of 16 counties across England and Wales are predicted to see snow flurries, including Yorkshire, Cumbria, Cheshire, and Gloucestershire. Temperatures across the country are expected to be close to freezing, falling to -1°C in central Scotland .
Between 50 and 75mm could fall over around nine hours, with up to 100mm also possible, and, where it falls on already saturated ground, flooding is possible.
The weather forecaster predicted that the snow would hit central and northern Scotland (Fort William, Fort Augustus, Cairngorms, Stirling, Perth, Aberfeldy, Achnasheen) on December 19 at 6:00 am. It could also be seen over north Wales (Conwy, Anglesey) and south Wales (Swansea, Cardiff).

Advanced weather modelling maps suggest as many as three snowstorms could hit the UK in the days before Christmas, with several inches of snow expected in some regions
Later that same day, parts of Cornwall, including Ilfracombe, were covered in white. Somerset, the south of Wales, Northern Wales near Anglesey, and Lancashire are also forecast to have snow. The following day, December 20, maps show snow falling over Oxford and Luton as North Wales is also hit.
