The motorcyclist, identified as 38-year-old Jennifer McKillip, was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. The driver of the truck, 21-year-old Stephen Ford, was not hurt. He was arrested and charged with failure to yield while turning left, DUI–alcohol, and homicide by vehicle in the first degree.
EMS dispatchers began working directly with the 911 Center on July 8. The 911 Call Center is located at 1250 West Elm Street. The merger makes Athens-Limestone Hospital the first agency to co-locate at the center. Individuals can still Call 911 for EMS emergencies, as always.
