Maria cinematographer Edward Lachman took the marquee Theatrical Feature Film prize at the 39th annual ASC Awards, which were handed out Sunday night at the Beverly Hilton. It’s the first major award for the Netflix pic starring Angelina Jolie as Maria Callas.

The film, which charts the final week of opera diva Maria Callas' life, is one of the five nominees in the Oscars Best Cinematography category and won over fellow Oscar nominees "The Brutalist," "Conclave,

On the TV side, the American Society of Cinematographers awarded Robert Elswit in the Limited Series category for “Ripley,” Richard Rutkowski in the Half-Hour Episodic category for “Sugar,” and Sam McMurdy in the One-Hour Episodic category for “Shōgun,” while “Gaucho Gaucho” and “313” took the documentary and music video categories.

Edward Lachman has taken top honors at the 39th annual American Society of Cinematographers Awards for his work on “Maria.” In a competitive year, the ASC nominated seven cinematographers in the feature film category.
