Thousands gathered to decry the Trump administration as part of a nationwide protest.

The threat came after shootings that killed a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband and wounded another Minnesota lawmaker and his wife early on Saturday.

Nationwide protests, organized by Indivisible and partner groups, are planned for June 14th, coinciding with President Trump's birthday and the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary.

The demonstrations are organized by Indivisible, a nonprofit coalition of progressive political action groups, which states that it is organizing “to reject corrupt, authoritarian politics.”

The “no kings” theme accused the president of acting like a tyrant, on what happens to also be Trump’s birthday.
