An alleged Chinese spy said he took a “significant risk” to his reputation by continuing to support Prince Andrew after his disastrous Newsnight interview, documents have revealed.

The court papers focus on the relationship between the royal and a businessman accused of being a Chinese agent of influence.

Documents released Friday also included a statement from a former close aide to the prince about the duke’s line of communication to China’s president Xi Jinping.
