Ward 8 voters are heading to the polls for a special election to fill an empty Councilmember seat after the D.C. Council voted to expel Trayon White, one of the candidates.
Trayon White Sr., a former D.C. Council member who was expelled in February, is projected to reclaim his Ward 8 seat in a special election, the Associated Press projected, despite concerns over his pending federal bribery case and the risk he could be disqualified from office if convicted.
GLAA gave Sheila Bunn the highest rating on LGBTQ issues in Ward 8's Council race. Trayon White was not rated due to ethics violations.
