The Met Office has also warned that fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life. Additionally, yellow Met Office weather warnings are in force for north-west England, south-west Scotland, parts of the Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber until 23:59 on Monday.

The Met Office has issued a series of weather warnings - including an amber one - for heavy rain. The amber warning is in south Wales, with the weather agency warning of possible fast flowing or deep floodwater "which may cause a danger to life".
The Met Office's deputy chief meteorologist Steven Keates said: "A deepening area of low pressure will approach the UK from the south-west later on Monday, bringing with it heavy rain and strong winds, which are likely to affect the UK between late Monday and early Wednesday.
