Goran Ivanisevic has quit as Elena Rybakina ’s coach after her exit from the Australian Open. His departure comes in the wake of Rybakina’s previous coach, Stefano Vukov, rejoining her team.
Rybakina hired Ivanisevic ahead of last year's WTA Finals and they started working together in the off-season. But their partnership was marred when the Kazakh rehired her former coach, Stefano Vukov, and news broke that Vukov was suspended by the WTA pending investigation.
Tennis star Elena Rybakina and coach Goran Ivanisevic have ended their partnership one day after the sixth seed’s Australian Open exit. Ivanisevic, the former coach of Novak Djokovic, joined Rybakina’s team in the pre-season after the Kazakh’s former coach Stefano Vukov was provisionally suspended amid a WTA investigation into his conduct.
Goran Ivanisevic announced on social media on Tuesday (January 21) that he will no longer be coaching Elena Rybakina. His announcement came following Rybanina’s fourth-round exit at the Australian Open to Madison Keys.

Ivanisevic confirmed the test phase had ended on his Instagram story Tuesday with a brief message. “After our trial period that finished with Australian Open, I wish Elena and her team the best of luck moving forward,” he wrote.
