WASHINGTON (AP) — A series of bomb threats across multiple battleground states and baseless claims of wrongdoing by former President Donald Trump disrupted an otherwise smooth Election Day that capped a tumultuous presidential campaign.
The Fox News Decision Desk called South Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, among others, for former President Donald Trump. California, Washington, Illinois, Colorado, and other states were called for Vice President Kamala Harris.
To the east is unseasonable mildness. To the west, cooler temperatures are bringing snow to the Rockies. Tens of millions of Americans are flocking to polling locations across the nation on Election Day, and in some cases, the weather will be a factor for those waiting in lines outside.
In New Hampshire, the status quo held. Republicans held onto the governor's office, with Kelly Ayotte successfully playing the anti-tax card against Joyce Craig and mining the old canard about "satanic" Massachusetts threatening to invade and befoul its pristine northern neighbors.
A U.S. Postal Service mailbox in Phoenix, Arizona, was set on fire on Oct. 24, damaging several ballots and other pieces of mail. A 35-year-old man was arrested and admitted to committing arson but said it was unrelated to the election.
The 21st District was redrawn in 2022 to include Corry, Elgin Borough and Concord and Wayne townships in Erie County. Those southeastern Erie County voters previously were part of the 50th District, represented by Republican Michele Brooks, of Greenville.
