Nvidia has announced that it's releasing a native GeForce Now app for Steam Deck later this year, so you won't need to use that workaround anymore.

GeForce Now is officially headed to the Steam Deck and virtual reality headsets, but it may be a while before you can game in the cloud.

NVIDIA is launching a native GeForce Now app on the Steam Deck and browser versions on major mixed reality headsets including the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 and 3S, the company said at CES 2025.

The Steam Deck is a great device, but it ain’t exactly a powerhouse. And with new graphics cards coming into the market from every angle, plus new AAA games that almost demand them, the Steam Deck’s aging integrated setup isn’t looking any hotter.

I got started with GeForce Now back when it was in beta in 2019, and even then, I was excited by its potential. The service launched publicly in 2020, and it is has over 25 million users globally. What's great about GeForce Now is that it allows you to play demanding games just about anywhere;
