Several parts of northeast Ohio are under a Snow Warning or Winter Weather Advisory as widespread snow continues across the area
“Three back-to-back rounds of wintry weather will bring snow to the interior Northeast and Great Lakes,” AccuWeather meteorologist Brandon Buckingham said in an email. “A foot or more of snow could pile up in areas downwind of the Great Lakes and across higher elevations by the end of the weekend.”
Thursday morning lows are forecast to fall into the single digits, with wind chills ranging from zero to 10 below zero.
Temperatures on Thursday are due to hover around freezing with a brisk westerly wind gusting up to 30 mph (sympathies to all bikers and runners and those who navigating those Center City wind tunnels), and then drop into the 20s after sunset with windchills in the teens.
A brewing storm could lead to heavy snow across the Northeast by Thursday. But a lot is still uncertain, forecasters warned.
Storm models are hinting at back-to-back coastal storm development, possibly late in the week and this weekend, as two different weather patterns converge.
After calm conditions through Tuesday, a weather system will bring potential snow to northern areas and rain to southeastern parts of the region on Wednesday and Thursday.
The exact track and positioning of the storm system will be critical in determining who sees snow and how significant the impacts may be.
