Packers boost cornerback depth by selecting South Carolina's Brandon Cisse at No. 52 overall
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst lived up to his word and boosted the Packers' cornerback depth by selecting South Carolina’s Brandon Cisse with their opening pick in the NFL draft Friday.
Cisse joins a Packers cornerback room led by another South Carolina product, Keisean Nixon, with whom he's talked, and he's looking forward to playing with him. As of now, it could be a heated competition for the No. 2 corner spot amongst Carrington Valentine, Benjamin St-Juste and Cisse.
The Packers drafted South Carolina cornerback Brandon Cisse with the 52nd overall pick, their first selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst packaged his two seventh-round picks to trade up to the final slot in the sixth round to draft Florida kicker Trey Smack.
