TAMPA — This is a very special Father’s Day for Chris Godwin. In January, the Bucs receiver and wife Mariah became first-time parents to son Ace. Nearly a year earlier, 10 days after the Bucs lost to the Lions in a division-round playoff game, Godwin’s father, Rod Christopher Godwin Sr., died of cancer.

Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is making an addition to his jersey in 2025 and beyond to pay respect to the most important man he knew.

Buccaneers receiver Chris Godwin has made a subtle but significant change for the upcoming NFL season. Moving forward, Godwin's name will include a "Jr." in honor of his late father.
