Two poll workers in their 70s died Tuesday after torrential rains caused flash flooding in Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the deaths of a 70-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman after two vehicles were swept off State Route H near Beaver Creek in Wright County.

The bodies of two poll workers, who were among the five people killed in Missouri after flash floods swept through the state, were discovered early Wednesday.

Heavy rain is causing flash flooding in the area. Many roads are shut down, and some schools are canceling classes because of high water in the streets. A polling place located in Eureka also closed Tuesday due to flooding.

St. Louis County police just before 4:30 p.m. confirmed the second body has been recovered by authorities. Lemay fire crews assisted in both incidents.
