California Governor Gavin Newsom offered some cutting words on social media for President Donald Trump Thursday as he battled to retain command of the state’s National Guard. He might have spoken too soon.

Advocates are calling on Governor Newsom to fully decommission shuttered state prisons and prevent them from being repurposed as ICE detention centers, as federal immigration raids are increasing across California.
