Ryan Coogler's vampire thriller dropped only 6 percent from its opening weekend, while a 'Star Wars' rerelease reached light speed in its return to box office glory.

"Sinners" is the No. 1 movie in North America for a second weekend, earning an additional $45 million in receipts this Friday through Sunday, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced.

Warner Bros. has dominated at the box office in April as “A Minecraft Movie” and “Sinners” continue to shatter expectations. Over the weekend, “Minecraft” collected $37.8 million overseas and $60.5 million worldwide in its fourth weekend of release.
