Some Switch 2 owners have noted on Reddit the overheating warning weeks after the console's launch in June. When the console gets too hot, a message will pop up advising that the system is overheating, and it will immediately go into sleep mode to cool it off.

Parts of the US are also experiencing heat well into the region of 95°F / 35°C, while the UK is on the tail end of its latest heatwave. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 owners should think twice about using their systems outside in such weather conditions in order to avoid potential damage.
