Basketball Hall of Fame member Dirk Nowitzki admitted he, like most everyone else, was shocked that the Dallas Mavericks sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in a blockbuster trade earlier this month.

The Winnipeg Jets have signed veteran center Vladislav Namestnikov to a two-year extension. The team announced the move Saturday, saying the contract carries an average annual value of $3 million.

Vladislav Namestnikov was more than deserving of his two-year, $3M AAV contract extension, but the contract agreement should not stop the Winnipeg Jets from pursuing a second-line centre or another skilled forward.
