Carnival Corp. is putting the finishing touches on, not a new ship, but a new destination for cruise passengers. Beginning in July, Doral-based Carnival will send ships between PortMiami and Celebration Key, a private development in the Bahamas.

Most Carnival cruise passengers are willing to deal with this unsightly issue in order to continue enjoying one cruise ship convenience.

Other events that were once highlights of Carnival cruises have faded into distant memory too. From pillow fight contests and passenger talent shows to men’s nightgown, hairy chest and belly flop contests, some hilarious passenger-participation activities that were once wildly popular have been removed from onboard schedules over the years.

There are dozens of islands in the Caribbean that cruise ships use as ports of call, but one logistical problem when trying to fit several interesting ports into a week-long cruise is that some of them are far.

You can bring this item with you on a Carnival cruise if it meets certain specifications, but you can’t use it on board the ship.
