The Elden Ring patch notes for update 1.14 have revealed yet another nerf for Shadow of the Erdtree. This time, it’s not players getting stronger with the Scadutree Fragments, it’s the final boss getting weaker. If you’ve been struggling to knock this one over, now might be the perfect time to jump in and give it another shot.

While it's no surprise that FromSoftware is still fine-tuning its enormous action RPG and its massive expansion, it's interesting to see nerfs like these to the DLC's final boss rolled out almost three months after Shadow of the Erdtree's release. It's an absolutely brutal fight, though, so perhaps the changes will make it feel a bit more fair.

Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has been a huge hit, selling 5 million copies within its first three days of release.
