US-based EV maker Tesla's India launch speculations have increased since PM Modi's meeting with its CEO Elon Musk.

The US-based EV giant has secured showroom spaces in Mumbai and New Delhi, taking a major step towards entering the world’s third-largest auto market after years of delays. Tesla had previously halted its India entry plans in 2022 but has since revived efforts, particularly after CEO Elon Musk met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the US last week.

In Mumbai, the carmaker has chosen space in the business and retail hub of Bandra Kurla Complex near the city's airport, the first person said. Both the Delhi and Mumbai showrooms will be around 5,000 square feet (464.52 square metres) in size, the source said.
