Music snobs, your time has come. Apple Music Replay officially released Dec. 2 ahead of Spotify Wrapped, its competitor's end-of-year feature.
All but one of Apple Music’s Top 10 most-streamed songs of 2025 weren’t even released this year—a trend that will continue when bigger services Spotify and Billboard release their year-end lists—a phenomenon caused by a streaming service's own playlists and conservative radio that some in the industry are trying to change.
The streaming platform also announced several updates to its Replay feature, making a strong push to rival Spotify’s year-end Wrapped feature.
Apple Music is getting ahead of Spotify Wrapped with the launch of its yearly recaps. This year’s Apple Music Replay is available natively within the app and comes packed with even more listening stats, allowing you to review all the new artists you listened to, which ones you kept returning to, and who made a comeback in your playlist.
Just like Spotify Wrapped, Apple Music has its own recap of the music that you've been listening to during the last 12 months.
While video streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney+ have aggressively adjusted their models to maximize revenue, the music world has remained comparatively steady. Unfortunately, that might be about to change.
