LACEY, NJ – Firefighters have made progress containing a massive wildfire burning in central New Jersey that threatened to become the largest blaze in the state in nearly 20 years, officials said.

Firefighters have been working overnight to contain wildfires burning in the Michaux State Forest, which officials say have spread nearly one thousand acres.

New Jersey firefighters are confident the wildfire burning for days in Ocean County​ will be fully contained over the weekend.
