The former superintendent of Fort Bend Independent School District, Christie Whitbeck, dropped her defamation claim against two current trustees and one former trustee Friday, according to a release from the school district.

Dr. Whitbeck maintains the district and board members violated her voluntary resignation agreement by making disparaging remarks about her after she left FBISD.

The former leader of the Houston-area school district is still suing the district as well as three current or former trustees for breach of contract.

Over 20 books were added to Fort Bend ISD's high school "Do Not Order" library book list in December, effectively removing these titles from district shelves.
