Michigan residents should prepare for a potentially stormy Saturday with a high risk of severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across multiple regions of the state.

The threat of flash flooding returned to North Carolina on Thursday, only days after Tropical Depression Chantal dumped heavy rain across the central part of the state, flooding homes and highways and leading to dozens of rescues.

More severe weather could hit the Chicago area on Friday after a round of storms moved through on Thursday. Pockets of heavy rain and storms continued to linger in the area on Friday morning. ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7.

Our bigger concern will be the chance for flooding Saturday due to the heavy rainfall. We expect showers and storms to be very efficient at producing heavy rain. Due to this, there is a Slight Risk for flash flooding across a wide swath of the state.
