Team India kicked off a five-match T20I series against England with a seven-wicket win in the opening match at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday, January 22. With a target of 133 set by Jos Buttler’s side,

India won the first T20I match by seven wickets after Abhishek Sharma's 79 off just 34 balls. He lost his wicket at the end but his brilliant knock helped India win the match in just the 13th over. He batted with a strike rate of 232 and hit eight sixes in his inning. Tilak Varma played the winning shot off Mark Wood.
