Authorities in the eastern Caribbean nation of St. Kitts and Nevis said Thursday they are investigating the circumstances that led to the discovery of at least 19 bodies found drifting at sea.

Ava Marie Guerra, 28, told officers she had no intention of keeping custody of the baby, according to arrest warrant.

The investigation began on November 25, 2024, while detectives were investigating the misuse of the inmate telephone system.
