DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A Liberian-flagged cargo ship attacked by Yemen’s Houthi rebels sank Wednesday in the Red Sea, with a European naval force in the Mideast saying that only six of 25 people who were on board have been rescued.

Yemen’s Iran-backed Huthi rebels have claimed responsibility for the deadly sinking of a merchant vessel earlier this week, their second attack in 24 hours as they resumed their campaign against Red Sea shipping.

At least three of the 25 people on board the Eternity C were killed after it was attacked by the Iran-backed group.
