The word Balam means Jaguar in the Mayan language. I chose the name for my boy to reflect my love of wild cats and my love of Mexican culture. This was the time we decided that Balam was a house Jaguar. There are six wildcat species native to Mexico and I hope to someday work with wildcats too. If I do, it will be a dream come true and my Balam will be responsible for delivering that reality to me. Thank you for helping me find my soul’s path Balam, and for helping so many animals via the @balam

Eggs were the meaning of life to Balam. What was it like living with such a loudmouth diva you ask? It was divine. He was glorious.
