I get asked a lot about protein intake and what is appropriate. I sat down and talked with the The Betty Rocker Podcast about everything from fat loss, gut health and hormone imbalance and also chatted about a general rule of thumb for how to get enough protein -- aim for a fist size of protein at every meal. When we are looking at collagen for different health benefits (not muscle protein synthesis) I suggest taking between 1 and 15 grams. But, it depends if you are taking native collagen or peptides (smaller bits of the whole collagen). Figure out what it is exactly you are looking to use collagen for.... whether it's more joint support (native collagen) or better skin, nails and integrity of joints and ligaments then I suggest you look for peptides. With the start of a new year can come diet or nutritional restriction in resolutions. I am seeing more and more active women fall into Low Energy Availability (LEA) where they aren't fueling enough for daily life or training. So I am pleading with you... Please, be sure you are properly fueling for any and all workouts. LEA can cause lower bone density, menstrual cycle dysfunction and greater inflammatory responses and ultimately, a loss of a period. We need to eat. We need to eat ideally in and

New Blog Post - Why Active Women Need Creatine It might be the most important supplement many women still aren’t taking. There are few supplements I recommend across the board. Creatine is one of them. A growing body of research shows it can help increase strength, power, and athletic performance in females, and it’s also good for your brain health and maybe even your mood. Yet, many women I talk to still don’t think creatine is for them because they don't want to become big and “bulky” like a b

I get asked this question all the time: "What is the most efficient way for a woman to train to focus on LONGEVITY?" If you want to be independently living at age 80 and 90, you want to have good bones and you want to be strong. This is why I recommend 10 minutes, 3 times a week JUMP TRAINING along with adequate protein, sprint interval training and strength training. Learn how to jump by improving bone mineral density with the jump app I've mentioned a few times across various interviews, osteo

I get a lot of women coming to me and saying that they just aren't hungry in the morning. I get it and I am similar. What has worked for me is to split my breakfast. I have a bit of it before my workout (if I'm not enjoying my protein coffee), and then enjoy the rest of it after my workout to ensure I am property fueled.
