Last year, the DNA Laboratory added Rapid DNA machines to be used throughout the state. The Rapid DNA technology gives investigators and detectives the ability to receive immediate results for certain samples that previously would have taken weeks or even months. Additionally, the Rapid DNA machine is mobile so it can also be used in a mass casualty incident to help aid in the identification of remains while at the scene.
