We are continuing to respond to the Placer Creek wildfire (K60922). Conditions today have been warmer and drier than recent days, and as a result the fire has become more active on the fire’s southern flank, at the top of the Placer drainage. Smoke from the increased fire activity is visible to those near the area and travelling along Highway 3. Fire behaviour is rank 3, meaning a moderately vigorous surface fire with occasional candling.
